Apart from the Academy and standalone workshop program, Stipglas regularly organizes other glass activities. Examples include:
- lectures on topics such as architectural glass applications or a Powerpoint presentation by one of our teachers;
- excursions to places such as a special glass exhibition;
- demonstrations of a special glass technique;
- work days where our facilities can be used with or without supervision .
You’ll find information about these activities under this heading.

During a “Work Day Glassblowing”, enthusiasts who have followed at least the beginner’s workshop Glassblowing can work at the glory hole independently. If you followed a beginner’s workshop elsewhere, we can discuss it with you to ensure you have the necessary skill to work independently. We make 2 teams of 2 people on each work day. Each team has both a large and a small glory hole at its disposal, while one warming oven and one annealing oven are shared. There’s no furnace! You can sign up as a pair, but it’s not necessary! We work from 10:00 to 17:00 during these work days. Important to note: no teaching is done!
The price for a “Work Day Glassblowing” includes the basic glass used (COE 96 nuggets), use of the tools, coffee/tea and all taxes. The participants bring their own lunch and are responsible for wearing appropriate clothing (long sleeves, closed shoes, no light inflammable clothes, long hair possibly tied back)! Everyone has to take care of his own safety and that of the others
